The purpose of the role is to provide coverage for team members who are on leave. You will deliver friendly and helpful customer service to the library’s customers, including assisting customers to access library resources, technology, and online platforms.

An essential requirement is availability to work Tuesday and Thursday evenings and weekend customer service shifts when required.

What You’ll Be Working On

Your day-to-day will involve being rostered onto the customer service desk and providing a welcoming, positive experience for the library’s customers. This will include helping customers access library technology and online platforms, assisting customers to find library resources as well as keeping library spaces tidy through shelving library resources and shelf tidying.

Other tasks you might be assist with are library events and programs and processing new library items.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role

With a Higher School Certificate or equivalent, you will have a community focus with experience in customer service and good computer literacy skills.

We would love to hear from candidates who have previous library experience, and who have the flexibility in their life to be available to work shifts at short notice.

You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to manage your time effectively.
